Waxing

In the picture above you will see our "OG" Original Black Coral Hard wax along with a few bits of our Mae'Mae Hard Wax.

Waxing

Wax is a common used epilator, applied in either soft or hard form. Both products are made primarily of resins and beeswax. Hard Wax is thicker than Soft Wax and does not require favric strips for removal. The benefit of waxing is that the hair takes longer to grow back and the skin feels smoother without thehair or — stubble. Reccommend time for waxing appointments is generally 4-6 weeks.
Wax is designed to adhere to the hair as close to the skin as possible. When the wax Is removed, it should adhere to the hair and remove the hair and bulb from the follicle. It is important to know that if the wax Is not applied correctly, applied at the wrong temperature, or if the skin is not cleansed well, the hair will not be removed.
*If the wax is too hot, it can cause skin irritation, skin lifting, and burns.**

Black Coral Wax - different types

  • Hard Wax - Is applied directly to the skin in a thick, wet layer that hardens as it cools. Hard wax is the only wax that can be removed in the direction of hair growth, but additional training is needed to use this method.
  • Soft Wax - Is applied in a thin layer and covered with a strip (muslin or non-woven), which removes the hair as it is pulled off quickly. Soft wax is applied in the same direction as the hair grows out of the follicle and is removed in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
  • Roll-On Wax - Another type of soft wax method uses roll-on applicators. The applicators contain wax and have roll-on heads. The applicators are warmed in a headting unit designed to fit the applicators. This method is very efficient and clean to work with. Many estheticians prefer to use roll-on wax because it can be less messy, more efficient, and cost efficient. Black Coral Wax does sell roll-on warmers that are not re-usable. It is only to be used at 1 per person

Black Coral Hard was is ideal for Speed Waxing.
When using this wax it does dry quickly, so it’s best to not spread too thin or you can risk cracking/breaking when pulling the strip.
Being a stronger wax, you can lift the skin if the temperature of the wax is not monitored and the skin is not prepped properly. It is always suggested to prep the skin with a light barrier of oil before waxing.

Plumeria Hard Wax

This year 2023, we introduced a new Hard Wax to our Black Coral Hard Wax and Mae'Mae Hard Wax. Plumeria is a new hard wax that is amazingly low temp. It is also hypoallergenic and vegan just like our Mae'mae. The best part about this wax is the drying time. It dries a bit faster than the Mae'mae but still a little slower drying than the Black Coral Hard Wax for those people that aren't exactly speed waxing yet. Having the Rose Essential makes this wax perfect for waxing all areas of the body and all hair types, leaving a soothing finish.
